ah yes
gaming
i make mostly game jam games on LiU Game Jam's game jams (where i participate as a game jam organizer). i've never really made a game in a "real" game engine. i prefer simple languages (lua) and/or low-overhead engines/frameworks (e.g. macroquad in rust). right now i'm moving more and more into hardware like FPGAs and microcontrollers. it's less about the game itself, and more about the challenge of using something not intended for games and creating a game anyway. unfortunately, that sometimes (usually) means that the games are not very fun to play.
